The CIRH (Comité International de Rink-Hockey) offered South Africa the opportunity to host the first ever World Cup in Africa.
The event will take place at APF (Associação Portuguesa de Futebol), 9 President Boshoff Street, Vanderbijlpark and spans over a seven (7) day period from the 25th October to the 1st November.
The opening ceremony on the opening day is scheduled for 16:30

The following 12 countries will be taking part: Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Colombia, Egypt, Holland, India, Israel, Macau, South Africa, Uruguay and USA.

Overseas dignitaries attending the event are: Harro Strucksberg (CIRH President), Francesco Rossi (CIRH Vice-President), António Rocha (International Referees Committee President) and Peter Braddock (CIRH Member)
Local dignitaries include the Minister of Sport and Recreation Rev. Dr. Makhenkesi Stofile, Chairman of the Portfolio Committee on Sport Mr. Butana Khompela, representatives from the Gauteng Provincial Government, representatives from the Gauteng Tourism Board, the Mayor of Vanderbijlpark, representatives from the Gauteng Economic Development Agency, Federation and Organizing Committee members.
